2001 Atrai 7

This is the second purchase from Edward , previously he had purchased the Altezza that is earlier in the blog. He decided he needed something original on base that was more practical than a sedan. Good choice for a vehicle, slightly bigger than a Kei ( Yellow plate ) 1300 cc engine that seats seven and actually has seat belts in the rear. I have to thank Edward for showing us that this vehicle even existed. Pretty peppy for a 1300 cc. Send us a updated photo after you do your Mods. Thank you for sticking with us.

1999 Mazda MPV

This was a very fast purchase, Edward V. has his family coming over shortly and needed a van that could carry all members while still feeling spacious. These vans seem to be popular on bases as peoples requirements tend to be based on a practical usage and not so much on aesthetics. With the MPV vans you get both. It's good to hear that many of the purchases that we have made for people on these bases are lower in cost from what is available from sales lots inside and in close proximity outside. We really like to hear feedback about how a neighbor paid too much for the same vehicle at a lower quality. Pleasure doing business with you Edward. Thank you for the positive feedback.

Odometer inspection and Japan's achnowlegement

This article is to let people know there is another side to odo ( odometer ) tampering. Most countries have vehicles inspected before import to protect the consumer from purchasing a vehicle that has had the meter tampered with. All vehicles built and sold in japan have had mileage recorded on the registration papers at some point in time usually every two years when the compulsory inspection must be done. This being stated there's no stopping a previous owner clocking a vehicle back to shave a few miles off before a sale, but has to show mileage above last recorded record. Vehicles being imported ( used ) to Japan unfortunately are not subjected to this scrutiny because mileage is not recorded in such a fashion throughout its service abroad. Therefore any vehicle that's imported without service records, the mileage that's recorded by import facilities is whatever is shown on the actual odometer at the time of entry into Japan. No other information will be accepted ( such as car-fax ) so when purchasing a import in Japan then finding out the meter was tampered with, there is no claim that will be accepted by Auctions , government import facilities or police, as they will base their decision on what was recorded on the shaken paper ( vehicle registration paper ) when said vehicle arrived at the port and was inspected. Odometer tampering in japan is a criminal offense. Which is why mileage is recorded every two years on vehicle certification, to deter people from misleading the purchaser.

Toyota Hilux Surf

This was a tough buy for John, last October when he wanted to sell his vehicle then purchase a Hilux Surf, by the time he had sold his van the prices skyrocketed  <1,200,000 Yen >on these units due to export demands for at least 5 months delaying what he had hoped to buy. John came to TAA auction and found this well maintained Hilux which he bought for approx 160,000 yen. It goes to show that the market value of a vehicle can rise suddenly and drop just as fast in a short time. Enjoy your new ride John.

BMW 320i 1997

We recently purchased this vehicle for Nate and his wife for usage on Zama. Nate came to the auction on a Friday after working out his schedule and picked up this car for a decent price. All leather interior and extras it was more than he had hoped to get for the low budget that was allotted for it. It came with JCI that was good until next year August so it was exempt from the normal inspection process that many have to go through. Thank you Nate for the business and referrals.

1998 BMW 318i 12,000 Km

Thank you for the business James H. This wa a extremely fast purchase as James took the time to come down to the auctions with us. Second visit he had, he managed to purchase this car for half of what he wanted to spend on it. 12,000 km the car looked brand new inside with only a few scratches on the exterior. New tires, new battery not much could go wrong with a buy like this. James informed me that he recently got shaken put on it at a total cost of 56,000 yen. Pays to do things yourself in some cases.

2000 BMW Roadster 2.2L

This nice vehicle was purchased for Matt B. he was a picky buyer and had to wait a little for this car as to meet his budget. The wait was worth it as he saved considerably and got a better vehicle than he had expeced to get. Thank you for all the referalls Matt, hopefully the rain lays off a bit so you can get extra time on the golf course.

Japan Post EMS Non delivery Use alternative shipping

Hi, do you mind spreading the word to be careful using EMS at present to Jamaica – have had three boxes go missing all sent on separate days and all three have not shown up! This is from a month ago! Big problems over there at present! Also I have a fucking awesome deal on DHL which I'm pretty sure no one will be able to compete with ! from a friend of mine up here in Sapporo – he negotiated the deal for a company exporting over $200,000 USD in freight costs alone per month so they managed to talk DHL around to giving them a super deal! 2003 Mazda MPV 3.0L Aero Sport

Another good purchase for a very good friend and customer of Milano Japan. Thank you Jake for the referrals and your purchase. This van was in Mint condition and had all the bells and whistles you wanted in it. The rear DVD monitor is huge !! Jake spent two weeks waiting for his purchase because of the color scheme he wanted inside and out and of course we we trying to save him some cash. Welcome back to Japan.
