This posting is to inform people on how the Japan big earthquake affected car purchasing. When the earthquake hit and the Tsunami followed it brought with it a large number of lost incomes, stopped Japan's economic rebound and has forced many local people to pull away from new car purchases. This has driven the cost of used cars up at the auctions. This coupled with a lower supply of used vehicles entering the auctions makes acquiring vehicles on previous budgets delayed and in some cases not viable.
